Meet the bands!

Death Crowned King

DEATH CROWNED KING is an unstoppable Metal band from the reclusive Florida Heavy Metal scene. Formed in the latter months of ’08, the band rose from the ashes of two of South Florida’s most uncompromising metal acts: Deceiver and Molech.

Edgar Gaitan (Vocals, Ex-Molech) and Carlos Delgado (Drums, Ex-Deceiver), met during one of Molech’s devastating live shows in ‘07. Sharing a vast liking for music and alcohol, the individuals who ironically share Central American roots (Nicaraguan decent) immediately began discussions of a possible side project.

Tension, inner strife and frustration followed both camps within the next couple of months. Amongst other calamities, it became clear that the ending was imminent for both perspective bands. Carlos decided to quit Deceiver in April ’08. Molech, suffering a much colder blow had their main axemen Alejandro relocated to Canada.

The unfortunate circumstance did however lead to perfect timing. The idea of joining the distinctive styles of previous efforts was now a reality. Thus began a partnership and the birth of what would soon become DEATH CROWNED KING.

Joining forces with Edgar and Carlos would be Marvin Benitez hailing from El Salvador. Marvin, also sharing a common trade with Edgar (as former L.A. residents) brings in a spark that quickly ignites the group to capitalize on a wealth of music made available by a true fan of the Metal Genre.

After several months of writing, practicing and even performing selected shows as a trio, DEATH CROWNED KING acquired the many talents of Andres Hurtado on Bass guitar. Andres, (having shared the stage with Edgar in Molech) offers an almost military style of precision and execution to the ensemble. Hailing from Colombia, Andres adds new dimensions to DEATH CROWNED KING’s proclamation of sonic aggression, which devastates all in its path.

Already achieving major buzz by live demo recordings and performances at the Fallout Shelter Studios. The Band never lacking optimism, confidence or attitude, for the first time as a full ensemble moves forward to unleash a new onslaught upon the metal masses.

You have been warned!

The Chaos Legion

chaos (countable and uncountable; plural chaoses)

1.A state of disorder.

2.A force that seeks to spread disorder.

Established in the spring season of 2009, The Chaos Legion is a band and a movement. Forging a sound that combines various elements of heavy music and a high energy performance that compliments the music. Taking the groove of metal, the aggression of punk and the power of hardcore, a style which is referred to as "ChaosXCore" comes out and hits the audience like a lightning bolt. With every show that gets set in their sights, The Chaos Legion looks to dish out it's brand of Florida sun soaked madness and bring the masses into the mayhem.

Faethom

The grim tale of Faethom begins in the ghoul-infested town of Cochabamba, Bolivia. A town were haunted souls abound and monstrous beings lurk in every corner. On one cold and dreary day, like those perfect for a funeral, DAVID, a Metal Warrior with a heart of ice, ventured far out into the forest to seek solace and darkness from the chaos of his life and to shred his guitar to the ancient trees. There he chanced upon a monstrous looking mansion with walls decayed and blackened by time and windows that seemed to weep. He heard a distant sound, melodiously tragic and mournful, yet beautifully tantalizing to his ears and hypnotized he crept to the back of the house where the sounds seemed to come from, despite him sensing that all around the place the dreadful presence of evil prevailed. There, as he peeked into one solemn and cracked window, he spotted a wretched girl dressed in an old, ragged dress, with long hair that fell to the floor in a tangled mess of cobwebs. She was playing a badly tuned organ and singing out with such demented misery that at first he feared she was mad in the head. But, as was his way of being drawn to all things dark, he knocked on the window to attract her attention. The girl looked up and with only a mild start, ran to him as if she’d known him her whole life. She told him her name was MARIELA and that she was held captive by a cruel and insane woman, more a monster than a human, who liked fresh blood. She’d raised her for this purpose, to feed on her everyday, so as to keep her true age of 666 at bay and her false beauty intact. Weakened by this torture, she was never able to escape but she had her music to comfort her. As David watched her weep tears blood-red, he realized her dark soul was a perfect match for his (of course she may have also put a spell on the poor unsuspecting David for our supposed damsel in distress is not so much a damsel as she is a scheming witch) and decided there and then that music could provide an escape for both of them. And so it began. David had been in many bands before and had years of experience as a talented lead guitarist. Mariela had an innate talent for singing and composing beautiful melodies on the keyboard not to mention a masterful knack for casting spells and curses here and there. They formed a band called Caustica and became popular in a matter of weeks winning several competitions and playing in other neighboring cities. Mariela would creep out each night and, though considerably blood-drained, was fueled by Metal and was able to perform with the aggression of a true Metal Warrior. David poured out all the aggressiveness within his soul in his powerful riffing. On every escapade, David would make sure to watch out for “the hag” so they would not be caught. But soon the bloodsucker caught wind of what was happening and threatened to lock Mariela up in the dungeons below away from her music and from David. To escape forever was their only way out and they fled to another hellish land where the burning sun is always beaming and Metal Warriors roam by the thousands: FLORIDA. They started anew as FAETHOM and have been creating songs for other dark souls like them to hear and enjoy. On their journey they have added two amazing talents for the live Faethom experience. The first: a tall, rugged Argentinean madman named FEDERICO whom they found in the Everglades hunting for fire-spitting demon wenches in the putrid swamps to add to his already impressive collection, a master on the bass (just ask those hot, little devils he keeps locked in his dungeon). Next, on drums they found THOMAS, a seemingly laid-back individual with a dark and secretive past (yes, they’ve spotted him sharpening those menacing machetes with a killer gleam in his big, blue eyes) who sheds his calm exterior every time he pounds on those drums to reveal the true savage within. And as for “The hag,” well, she was left behind to rot in her mansion of death with a belly barren of the precious blood she so desperately needs to stay young and hopefully she will never know of the whereabouts of the FEATHOM clan, but one never knows…

Hate Machine

Hate Machine was formed in the fall of 2004 by Gary Bennett, Jimmy Quick, Jake Barrow, and Kevin Gallagher. Each member had worked together in previous musical endeavors (Shattered Sunrise/Mourning Again) throughout the Miami area. Together Hate Machine shares the same musical direction and vision. The band has recently finished their self released debut EP, “Prepare For Annihilation”, produced by Paul Trust (Diecast/Endo). Guest vocals were contributed to Diecast’s latest album, “Internal Revolution”, which was released November 2006. Hate Machine has shared the stage with bands such as Obituary, Kittie, and Aghora. The band has self financed an east coast tour and has played venues across Florida including Revolution and the legendary Miami Orange Bowl Stadium.

LeVeL

Brought together from different areas of South Florida, Level was born in 2005 with a drive to show people that true metal will never die. Combined with their dark sound, positive lyrics, awe-inspiring live performances, and major musical influences such as P.O.D., Exodus, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Slipknot, and many others, Level is nothing more than a powerhouse trio made up of: Todd Martin – Lead Vocals and Lead Guitar, Billy Dale III – Bass Guitar, and Jeremy Valdez – Drums who are on a misson to show the world their style of metal. Matched by their musical abilities, Level’s passion is obvious; they are out to generate new waves in the metal scene.

Paired with their unique personalities and willingness to rock any show, Level is clearly devoted to spreading the word about local music and promoting local venues. These local venues include: Murphy’s Downtown, Atlantic Billiards, Ground Control, O’Malley’s, Area 7, Jesse’s Extreme, and many more. With an EP under their belt, Level is always dependable, eager to melt faces, and sometimes even destroy eardrums with their music.

Phoenix/NEBULIN

The music of phoenix/NEBULIN is an amalgam of sounds that blends the harsh, unforgiving drive of the industrial and metal genre with captivatingly melodic tones. Lyrically, they guide you through another portal into the recesses of their imagination and offer their point of view regarding the world that surrounds which is sometimes
a meridian between anger and insightfulness.
Their live performances are exceptionally intense, delivering an
unexpected power and emotion that never fails to leave the audience feeling less than astounded.

phoenix/NEBULIN first came together in July 2001 when Linda and Armando began writing music together for the first time. This initial songwriting process was short
and intense immediately spawning the creation of their first demo which was completed in only 2 months. They played
a handful of live shows before making the decision in December of 2001 to take a long hiatus when it was discovered Linda was expecting her first child. During this time away from the spotlight they directed their energy to the songwriting process. They completed writing the songs for their debut album, Distanza, at the end of 2002 and decided to step out into the live scene. The compositions that were created on their debut CD proved to be too difficult to play simply as a musical duo. That barrier gave way to the decision to add other musicians into the fold. In 2003 guitarist Joe Cozzi and keyboardist Tony Gines were added to the lineup followed thereafter by live drummer Caffeine.

In mid 2004 Joe Cozzi left the band to pursue other musical projects and Tony Gines left due to personal conflicts within the band. Guitarist and close friend James Wargacki
joined phoenix/NEBULIN in May 2004 finally brining a sense of closeness and camaraderie to the band. Unfortunately
in August 2004 Caffeine chose to leave the band also to pursue other musical interests and focus on his familial obligations
With the lineup finally stable phoenix/NEBULIN began an intense slew of live performances in September 2004 quickly building up a large and intensely committed fan base throughout the United States
and beyond. Their list of performances
continues to grow and they have shared the stage with such gifted and admired acts as The Genitorturers, Deadstar Assembly, Incode, Myssouri, Wednesday's Child and others. Even with their hectic performance schedule phoenix/NEBULIN was able to find time to compose songs for their sophomore CD, entitled Meridian,
which was released in Nov, 2006.

The band has been supporting their latest cd for the past year and a half
with the help of live drummer Nao Arias who was included in the lineup
from March 2006 – May 2008. The latest
“live” lineup features Armando Doval on drums & programming and new member N.L.Q taking over bass. The band will be releasing a cover / remix album called (LUNACY)in early 2009, a cd loaded with great p/N style cover songs and remixes
including Simple Minds (Don’t you forget about me) and Cindy Lauper’s (She Bop).Linda and Armando are also currently working on material for a 3rd studio album to be released in 2009 as well as continuing to play live
shows when the opportunity arises.

phoenix/NEBULIN has the simple and modest goal to create music for the masses that will inspire and move their listeners. Front person Linda Doval explains the band's goals: "What we long for is more than just being able to sustain a life off the fruits of our creative labor. I would also like to leave some kind of mark. I want our music to inspire others to follow through with their creative dreams and never forget that the voice they have inside is powerful and worth hearing."

Stoma

Stoma wants to say hello, and welcome you to the only real form of in your face music, the world doesn't have to offer you. All veterans of the S. FL music scene, this 5-some are no strangers to high-velocity performances. With genres ranging from ABBA to Zappa, Stoma is quickly raising eyebrows and wineglasses with their quirky blend of Experimental/Cartoon-esque Hardcore and electronica. After a long break of non-sense and lack of stupidity, your friendly neighborhood Stoma is in the studio.

So now you can enjoy music again!

Paralysis

Powerful melodic vocals to ear-consuming guitar harmonies. bass lines that stir your emotions, captivating cleans, gentle acoustics, destructive drums, and guitar solos that will send a chill down your spine... From brutal grooves to serene chord progressions that will enslave your mind and spirit, with a climactic build up that will leave you wanting more. Song writing pieced together to leave an imprint in your mind until the end of your days. This 4-piece montage is here now to consume your mind, and soul. It can all be summed up to a simple state of PARALYSIS.

Guitarist Chris Dravend was bent on gathering musicians to help craft the magic that is the music of PARALYSIS. After working with many guitarists, his long-time side collaboration with his old comrade and fellow guitarist Chris Hayes would evolve into a serious musical endeavor, which he would also enlist his brother, Justin, as the drummer. Emilio Martinez's vocal and lyrical presence, as well as his multi-tasking on the bass guitar, would complete the band. The quartet continues to prowl venues across the state of Florida, and eventually the nation, with their sounds of tuneful chaos, few of which will appear on their upcoming debut EP.

Revolution

Gery, Joel and Mr. Jhon started to compose heavier songs in between jam sessions and a song called "REVOLUTION" came out of it. Gery called Abe to fill on drums. We wrote new material, But Abe wasn't happy with the direction the band was taking. So, He had to move on (he is currently playing drums on STOMA). Finding a drummer in Miami ended up being harder than we thought. Daniel M. was our drummer for three or four live shows (Thanks Danny for the Help!), He was the keyboard player of BANDA DE LADRONES (very talented guy!). For the recording of our demo, Gery played the drums. There was no name for the band and there was no steady drummer. We played several shows without a Name. Well, actually we named ourselves differently every time ...after a few shows then it hit us, The first song we wrote to start this whole band. "REVOLUTION" should be the name of the band. It represented the feeling of the band and the description of the sound. Then our good friend Cat gave us the number of a drummer who could try out for REVOLUTION. Within the first minute of the audition, We all knew we had found the forth member of REVOLUTION ... the KEVMAN A.K.A. "Kevin Klingenschmid". The "FIRST OFFICIAL" with the new line-up and the name REVOLUTION was February 28th, 2008. We have live broadcasts from "MEZZ TV" (THANKS Monchi & CREW!) and "THE TALENT FARM" (Thanks Mr. Burns). The song "Hopeless" has been featured in TLP radio in Tampa Florida in the Monday Metal show BRUTAL BACKHAND. The song "Never Again" has been featured in the 2009 Kryptonite Allstars Compilation CD. REVOLUTION has played in Miami's most prominent venues (TOBACCO ROAD, CHURCHILLS, FLAVOUR, DRAKE's, STUDIO A, etc). We have also entered the Broward circuit playing in their most important venues (AREA 7, PULP LIVE, MUGSHOTS, OMALLEYS). REVOLUTION has played for touring bands like JIMMIE'S CHICKEN SHACK, WREATCHED, TETRARCH, STATE OF INSOMNIA, KNOW LYFE. We won the "BEST SHOW" at the STATUS-QUO AWARD CEREMONY 2008, produced by The Queen of The Scene and DJ Oski. REVOLUTION has been featured in articles in the most important written media in Miami (The MIAMI HERALD, MIAMI NEW TIMES, MIAMI LIFE MAGAZINE, MIAMI SNAPSHOTS). At the moment we have released our first single "DEATH IN PARADISE". It has art created by N.F.Romero (Great local painter!). It was mixed by Mick Kenney (ANAAL NATHRAKH, NAPALM DEATH, DELIVERANCE). We are finishing our first live Ep. We are trying to keep live music alive!!!!!!!! Now you started the REVOLUTION!!!!!

Sick Assembled

"Music & writing is an outlet shadow of my soul. I sleep for inspiration & find answers in my unhinged dreams & It’s a satisfying feeling to be able to welcome all to share these gifts”

Chelsia Rose (vocalist) met Craig Demsky (guitar) and Brad Pridemore (bass) in 2006, and quickly found a creative chemistry. The "sickness" was forming.

The songs rapidly poured out, and 2007 saw SICK ASSEMBLED’S first self-released EP and live shows.

THIS BAND WAS DESIGNED TO ENHANCE & INFLUENCE YOUR ENVIRONMENT.

Silenmara

There is a distaste in arrogance. There is unacceptance in sociability. There are very few realists and not enough idealists. This is marked unequivable to the ends of the earth. Find out what makes you tick. Locate the weakness in your life. Textiled versions of your life truly does exist. In short we have failed each other. Then we are proven to succeed when we are thrown to the wolves out on our own. We can write over tragedy and dismay in the eyes of our ancestors, or we can choose to write about our time ceasing when it is, coincidently, time to cease. There are many things that can influence a band. There is world hunger, the subtleness of suicide, the rebirth of a drug addict, the empowerment of the individual who is misunderstood and the vitality of a gentleman who never took no for an answer. The notion is to encapture the emotions that you are afraid to delve into. The choice is to become the entity they choose to follow. When should someone lead another into the inevitable disaster of fate appearing befoe our eyes in the form of death? Why should we conceal an abscence of faith when we seek it in others? Silenmara will mend the tides of a weak passion and infuse it with a defining sound of aggression. Remove yourself from the trend and popularity contests they hold secretly. Place yourself in a state of vulnerability and mark the change of your existence. Become who we are. We are Silenmara

Intoxicated

Intoxicated was formed in early 2007 by four longtime friends who wanted to bring Thrash Metal back into the scene. With two members from Brooklyn N.Y. and two from Miami, different styles came together to form a sound thats unique and also reminiscent of some old school thrash, from Pantera to Slayer and beyond.

Oblivious Signal

Chicago Tribune raves, “The Broward based band has blended her vocal prowess on emotional storytelling with heavy riffs, blast beats, and bold bass lines.” Rag Magazine claims the band “offers a melodic flavor to the mix and challenges the overall definition of the word metal, creating a new phrase perhaps, Melodic Metal.”

Originating from South Florida, Oblivious Signal has ravaged the metal scene in the past two years. Although the band has been around since 2003, the line-up was solidified in 2007 with the addition of studio and live vocalist, Cristina T. Feliciano. The remaining line-up consists of guitarist, Nick Orisino and drummer, Jason Talley.

Oblivious Signal has established a reputation as a band who defies the rules of song structure to create music that is both entrancing and appealing to the listener. Songs such as “City in Flames” and “Death Becomes My Friend” are narratives in which the bands unique sound is clearly distinguished through a story. For the more commercial prone, “The Quiet Voice of Failure” and “Inflicted’s Shame” offers memorable and powerful hooks.

After the release of the Oblivious Signal Demo, the band quickly rose to the top 20 spot on MySpace Metal Charts. National recognition was achieved and the band was reviewed by Meto-Mix as having an ever expanding fan base in Europe. The year 2008 brought opportunities to open for national acts in Florida. In 2009, the band included in their tour, Hot Topic Acoustic shows and plugged in sets, as well as radio sponsored shows in both Spanish and English! From college shows to benefits, Oblivious Signal has delivered a power packed performance that has left an impact on listners!

In 2010, Oblivious Signal is set to release their full length CD; Including newly re-mixed versions of the demo songs all produced by Luis Salazar (Lil Wayne, January, And Then There Was You, Travis McCoy). As Rag Magazine claimed, “Oblivious Signal has a refreshing sound…” and that is what the new album is ready to give its fans. A refreshing sound that encompasses a melodic metal experience that will leave you wanting more!

Mixed Breed

We are a hard and heavy, say-what-we-will-because-everyone's-either-talked-about-death-and-destruction-and-good-versus-evil-and-we're-attempting-2-talk-about-other-stuff-because-no-one-else-will, releasing-our-rage-and-anger-therapudically-because-we-really-don't-feel-like-having-a-career-in-homicide, if-you-like-us-cool-if-not-listen-2-somebody-else rock band. We don't dress goth or grungy or in leather. We don't wear make up. We don't have long hair. We don't get religious (or anti-religious, 4 that matter). We don't bite heads off live animals and sacrifice goats and dance in virgin's blood! We could give a rat's ass about image! We're all about the music; we let IT speak 4 us.

CHARLES BLACKSHIRE (bass, vocals) became interested in music at the early age of 5, thanks in part to Michael Jackson’s 1982 release “Thriller”. His influences included Jackson, Prince and later Metallica and Pink Floyd. He persuaded his parents to enroll him for piano lessons, which would later lead him into joining the Fine Arts program in Perrine Elementary School (1987-1988) and Robert Russa Moton Elementary School (1988-1990). After a stint in visual media, Charles returned to his love of music by joining a high school singing group called INFINITE in 1994. He is also an avid songwriter, penning tunes for genres such as rap, R&B and pop prior to joining the band soon to be called Mixedbreed in 1999. (Charles came up with the band name in the years to come.) Guitarist Don Goulbourne asked Charles to join the group initially as a vocalist, auditioning him with songs made famous by Journey, Led Zepplin and Van Halen. During early demo recording sessions, Charles took on rhythm guitar duties. He then switched to bass guitar, and at even took on multiple duties (rhythm guitar, bass, drums, and lead and background vocals) on certain recording sessions. Charles plays a black Ibanez GSR200 bass guitar. He also plays a red Ibanez GAX70 guitar (featuring a picture of Bettie Page) for several recording sessions. His use of amplifiers varies.

DONALD GOULBOURNE (guitar) grew up in Jamaica listening to a variety of musical genres ranging from pop, jazz and R&B to Latin and classic rock. However, it wasn’t until he moved to the United States that he had a newfound fascination for hard rock and heavy metal, thanks to bands such as Van Halen and Metallica. The sounds of the electric guitar – “grinding, screaming, shredding, and ripping” – had him so enthralled; it inspired him to learn the instrument. Don formed the group soon to be known as Mixedbreed in late 1998. He was accompanied by former members Rick Hernandez (drums), Hewlester Samuel (bass) and former lead singer Rosie Maguia. The group initially played hard rock/classic rock tunes until asking Charles Blackshire to become a member the following year. Don plays two Fender Stratocasters (blue and black) and a Gibson Explorer, as well as a Cry Baby wah pedal and Line 6 Amplifiers.

FEDOR VIVAS (drums) was asked to join Mixedbreed in January of 2008 after co-members Don Goulbourne and Charles Blackshire auditioned a number of come-and-gone drummers in the past ten years. Influenced by bands such as Iron Maiden, Guns n’ Roses, Metallica, Sepultura, and Napalm Death, Fedor frequented several music stores at the age of 16, trying out several instruments. Initially wanting to play the guitar, he finally settled on the drums; he was fascinated by how hard-hitting and impactful it is, not to mention the ability to “piss people off” by playing them with great veracity. His cousin (a bassist) along with a guitarist friend formed the band Conflicto, and was asked to join, since they needed a drummer. Fedor currently plays Tama drums with Iron Cobra double pedals and Zildjian cymbals, along with an assortment of drumsticks.

MadSic

Madsic was formed in late 2003, shortly after storming into the local music scene, bringing with them a show mixed with touches of metal, hardcore, and industrial blended with darkness and showmanship. This band’s influences include such bands as Slipknot, Chimaira, Machine Head, Soulfly, and Hatebreed.

Madsic has accumulated quite a list of accomplishments over it’s 6 year history. This band has played shows from Miami to Tallahassee, and is currently undergoing plans for an East Coast tour.

In 2004, Madsic won second place at Ragfest 3 beating out over 25 bands. The local press has also found an interest in this Ft. Lauderdale based band. Rag Magazine did a two page interview on Madsic in December 2004.

In January 2005, 2 Madsic tunes were included on a BMX Video from BMXvideo.net. In April 2005, they performed at a Major Label Showcase in Tallahassee for Hollywood, Epic, and Dreamscape Records. And in May 2005, an interview at Mega Metal Online. Their song Buried In Skin was included on Downline Record’s New Rock Nation Compilation CD and their tune Tremor was on the Best Of The Best In The Northwest Comp CD.

In 2006, their song Distance Of Hate appeared on the Sonic Onslaught Vol. 2 Compilation CD along with bands such as Soil, Mushroomhead, Powerman 5000, Vanilla Ice, and Sworn Enemy. Also in 2006, they received endorsement through Switch music out of Los Angeles.

In 2007, they began getting radio station recognition with airplay and an interview on Metalkast Radio out of Minnesota and Raven’s Eggs and Kegs show out of Colorado. They were also interviewed online through Hollywood Music TV in Canada.

In 2008, an online contest called Metal Cage Fight 2008 done by MetalEvolution.net, decided by fan votes, was won by Madsic and they were dubbed by the station “Masters Of Metal 2008”.
Also more radio airplay in 2008 included regular rotation and an interview on Caya Radio, airplay on NVasion Radio, Break Thru Radio, the Psycho Realms Show on WMNF 88.5 FM in Tampa, and Dark Cloud Radio.net.

2008 also found Madsic on the main stage on the first year of the Kryptonite Metalfest at Tobacco Road in Miami, one of America’s oldest and most historic venues.
In honor of the show they received an interview in Miami’s New Times Magazine.

Their song Distance Of Hate was featured as first track on Vitruvian Records’ Florida Brutal Backhand Compilation CD

Madsic fans took to the band so much that they started building fan sites for them on My Space, the Official Madsic Fan Site based in Tampa, Florida, and the Madsic South Carolina Street Team site. They also have Street Teams in Arizona and Nebraska.

Already in 2009, they have played the second installment of The Kryptonite Metalfest, and performed at Lollapalooza’s Locofest South 2009 with such great bands as Mudvayne, Nonpoint, and Hed PE. More Madsic press was found with an interview in the Florida Sun Sentinel newspaper. Their song Outside Myself was included on Vitruvian Records’ SWFL Music Scene Compilation CD, and they have performed at Pulp Live in the first year of the Mayday Music Festival.

This driven group of musicians has no limit of energy and is determined to conquer the underground music scene.
