The 12th installment of the Auteur Explosion @ Cinema Paradiso's (503 SE 6 Street in downtown Fort Lauderdale) One Year Anniversary on 12/19/2009 9pm - 2am will feature Bands, Artists, Poetry, Skits, and Short Films / Featurettes by local filmmakers.
The Auteur Explosion @ Cinema Paradiso was created to provide a platform for emerging artists.
Underlab Studios,
Redawn TV, and Cinema Paradiso teamed up together in order to provide a platform for all forms of artistic expression. “The monthly event creates a fun outlet for the local artists and the community is really enjoying the experience of viewing their art, film and listening to the local bands. We’re proud to be part of this movement.” Commented Hal Axler, Executive Director of Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and Cinema Paradiso, who agreed to donate the theatre in hopes to see area artists flourish.
General admission is only $7 to attend. There is no cost to artists featuring their work and new talent interested in becoming part of the event should contact Dawn Dubriel at

Poken Girl and will be hosted by Underground Comedian: Jermaine "LiL SNOOP" Rey and includes:
Bands:
Xavier Hawk's tribal music(9:20pm-9:50pm),
The 7D's hip-hop (10pm-10:15pm)
Dirty Nasty Rotters' punk rock (10:30pm-11pm).

Nick Legend 0187 (southFl graffitti artist extraordinairre)
Jennifer Taboada and her colorful works
Katie Sottack (stunning tropical and jazz inspired pieces)
David Mack (reggae colors meet animal kingdom)
Underlab Studios' mastermind
J. Vinazza (Dali meets Picasso).
At 11pm, inside the theater
Catch Special Performance with
Chaos Theory Poetry
as well as a short skit by local acting troupe Visual Aces and films by local filmmakers

Cinema Paradiso is conveniently located in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Its hip, trendy yet offers an old world charm suiting to the senses of the art community. The charming 200 + seat theatre, with outside patio also has the capacity to contain the constant influx of new and local talent at the monthly Auteur Explosion. Plus it offers concessions, a full bar, and the best popcorn in town!
